Freelance photographer Edd Cote has lived in central Massachusetts his entire life, much of it behind a camera. Early in his photographic career he realized "people pictures" were much more compelling than sunsets and squirrels. He believes the best photos depict verbs, not nouns, and he aims to get shots of people living, rather than posing.  Moments big and small are all fair game – a high school basketball player celebrating her 1000th career point, the innocence of a young girl preferring to smell a chrysanthemum while town officials honor war heroes, a local chef slidng a pizza into an oven (taken from INSIDE the oven!) – these are the images Edd seeks out.

Edd was born in Grafton and his earliest memory might be of his room in the house on Elm Street where his family lived before moving to Millbury. His grandmother lived in that house well into the 60's. His first haircut was in the building that now houses Ron's Barber Shop.

Edd's work is regularly featured in local weeklies, business journals, area colleges and other venues.
