UPDATED: Wind Leaves 1,000+ Without Power

National Grid customers were reporting outages throughout town; Grafton appears to be one of the hardest hit towns in the region by the wind storm.

Updated, 2:30 p.m.: Fewer than 60 Grafton customers remained without power as of mid-day Thursday. Original story: Wednesday night's and Thursday morning's high winds caused power outages in scattered pockets throughout town. Were you affected? National Grid's outage map is noting that 1,297 customers were without power across Grafton, as of 8:30 a.m.  Streets without power in some sections include Adams Road, Pleasant Street, Brigham Hill Road and Providence Road. Grafton appears to be among the hardest-hit towns in Central Massachusetts in terms of electricity outages: Millbury and Oxford also had more than 1,000 affected, but most surrounding towns were in the low hundreds.
