Thursday, Dec. 27 A Westborough man arrested in August in connection with a night-long vandalism and theft spree was sentenced Thursday to two years probation and ordered to undergo continued counseling and treatment. Lucas B. Houghton, 21, of 4 Jacob Amsden Rd., Westborough, faced multiple charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime, wanton destruction of property and larceny from a building in connection with a rash of incidents on Aug. 27 in which Houghton and a 15-year-old male from Westborough slashed window screens, spray painted fences and broke outdoor lamps. Wednesday, Dec. 26 Antoni Regalado, 22, of 87 Southwest Cutoff, Northborough, was arrested by Northborough police and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, speeding, marked lanes violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and an open container violation. Judge Vito Virzi scheduled a formal arraignment for Jan. 9. According to police, Regalado was observed speeding on Route 20 around 2:50 a.m. on Christmas Day. When the officer stopped the vehicle, he saw an open beer can in the front seat. Thursday, Dec. 20 Nancy Sarmiento, 33, of 17 Taylor St., Milford, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Grafton police to face charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection sticker. Judge Steven Thomas found Sarmiento responsbile on a decriminalized version of the unlicensed operation charge, ordering her to pay $200 in court costs, and not responsible on the no stocker charge. Isaac M. Mutesasira, 21, of 297 Turnpike Rd., Apt. 315, Westborough, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Westborough police to face charges of operating with a suspended license and speeding. Judge Vito Virzi released Mutesasira on personal recognizance and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 11.

Wednesday, Dec. 19 Damien R. Hughes, 19, of 19 Nash St., Westborough, was arrested by Westborough police and charged with receiving stolen property, use of a motor vehicle without authorization (second offense), breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and larceny of a credit card. Judge Robert B. Calagione ordered Hughes held on $500 cash or $5,000 surety and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 4. Police said they were summonsed to Not Your Average Joe's on Wednesday where two teenagers were attempting to use gift cards that had been reported stolen from a motor vehicle. Police also recovered a stolen Toyota Corolla near the restaurant and later investigated a break-in into a garage on Andrews Street that included the theft …

Monday, Dec. 17 A Shrewsbury man faces charges in conjunction with a chase that ended with officers drawing their weapons as the man attempted to ram cruisers with his car to escape. Shaun D. Gray, 19, of 14 Atwood Ln., Shrewsbury, was arraigned Monday in Westborough District Court on charges of operating under the influence, failure to stop for police, a marked lanes violation, speeding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, defacing or damaging property and assault with a dangerous weapon. Thursday, Dec. 13 William C. Harding, 28, of 17 Lakeside Dr., Shrewsbury , was arrested by Shrewsbury police and charged with assault and battery and three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. Judge Vito Virzi ordered Harding held on $1,000 bail and scheduled a pretrial hearing for Jan. 31. Police allege Harding assaulted his girlfriend by throwing a glass candle and a laptop computer at her and then struck her with his hands and with a furniture spindle. According to court documents, the incident occurred on Dec. 9, when police doing a well-being check arrived at a house on Lakeside Drive to find "obvious signs of struggle" including overturned furniture and blood stains but could not locate the woman they were asked to check on by …

Branham, 27, of 196 Main St., Boylston, was summonsed to court on a complaint from Shrewsbury police to face charges of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Judge Vito Virzi dismissed the leaving the scene charge upon payment of restitution in the amount of $175 and continued without a finding for three months the negligent operation charge. A Grafton man was released on $750 cash bail Monday after his arraignment on charges that he assaulted his wife, who is nine weeks pregnant. Noah U. Springer, 30, of 130 Keith Hill Rd., Grafton, faces one count of assault and battery and is due back in court Jan. 30. According to court documents and a police report, the incident began Sunday evening when police responded to a 911 call about a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they found the alleged victim "distraught" and were told that Springer had left the house with his 6-year-old son. Police allege Morano took jewelry valued "in the thousands of dollars," from a secure storage area in his mother's home.
