Residents say the impact continues to be felt.
On Sept. 11 2001, Eileen LeBlanc turned on her TV just as the second plane crashed into the second Twin Tower building. "You think it doesn’t look real,” she said. Now a decade later, locals still feel the effects of the attacks. Some, like John Mapel, are still shocked about the attacks. “I haven’t been [to New York City] since before Sept. 11,'' he said. "It seems unreal that [a building] so big could fall.” And for others, Sept. 11 caused other things to collapse as well, including their careers. Last summer, Jennifer Deforge lost her job as a flight attendant for US Airways after 12 years of flying.
