A Pleasant Street resident has been designated a level 3 sex offender by the Sex Offender Registry Board, Grafton Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau Jr. has announced. Roger Lee Edmonds, 59, lives at 189 Pleasant St., Grafton and works at 4 Industrial Rd., Unit 8-10, Milford. He was convicted of two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child younger than 14 on Aug. 24, 2011. He was convicted on three counts of the same charge May 18, 1983. Level 3 sex offenders have a high risk to reoffend, according to the Sex Offender Registry Board, which makes the determination. I am always receiving requests for information on registered sex offenders in Town so I thought it would be prudent to rerun this particular column. I’ve also included some ideas on talking to children about personal safety provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). I hope that authorities continue to get hold of these offenders as these are one of the factors that threaten the community these days.
