The Grafton resident has been indicted by the Grand Jury regarding the Feb. 14 case.
Grafton resident Charles Conti, who is charged with setting a fire at a Worcester construction company in February, was indicted yesterday by the Grand Jury on charges related to the incident. The Grand Jury handed up indictments on a charge of arson of personal property and two charges of malicious destruction of a motor vehicle, said Timothy J. Connolly, spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early. Conti, 63, of 7 Airport Rd., North Grafton, will be arraigned at a later date in Worcester Superior Court, Connolly said. The case of Grafton resident Charles Conti, who is charged with setting a fire at a Worcester construction company last month, was continued today in Worcester Superior Court to April 13. Conti, 63, who lives at 7 Airport Rd., North Grafton, will return to court April 13 for a pre-trial conference. He faces charges of malicious destruction of property valued over $250 and two counts of burning a motor vehicle. The charges were filed in connection with a fire Feb. 14 at A. F. Aerosol cans of brake parts cleaner found in Charles Conti’s vehicle and home matched those found at a fire scene in Worcester yesterday, according to court documents. Conti, 63, of 7 Airport Rd., Grafton, was charged yesterday with malicious destruction of property valued over $250 and two counts of burning a motor vehicle. The charges were filed in connection with a fire early yesterday at A. F. Amorello & Sons construction company at 115 Southwest Cutoff. Police searching his vehicle and home found cans of Wearever Brake Parts cleaner, both used and unused, court documents said. The Grafton resident is charged in connection with an incident at Amorello Construction.
The Grafton man charged with burning equipment at a Worcester construction company last night was arraigned this afternoon in Worcester District Court. Charles Conti, 63, of 7 Airport Rd., Grafton, was charged with malicious destruction of property valued over $250 and two counts of burning a motor vehicle, according to a spokesman for District Attorney Joseph Early. The alleged incident happened last night at 115 Southwest Cutoff in Worcester, the site of A. F. Amorello & Sons construction company. Conti was arrested at 12:10 a.m. Conti is being held on $100,000 cash bail. He was arrested by State Police in Worcester. Grafton Police assisted, according to Police Chief Normand Crepeau Jr. Conti is scheduled to return to court March 13.
