He seeks votes for Fastest Rising Star.
Westborough native and mind reader Eric Dittelman is asking his audience to vote for him in a magazine contest. Dittelman posted on his Facebook page today that he's been nominated for Fastest Rising Star in the 2013 Campus Activities Magazine Reader's Choice Awards. The Westborough High School alum and Grafton resident was a semi-finalist on NBC's "America's Got Talent" this summer. He has since performed twice in Westborough: at Westborough High on Dec. 12, and at Congregation B'Nai Shalom's "A Night of Amazement" on Jan. 12.

The mind-reading 'America's Got Talent' semi-finalist performed at his alma mater Wednesday night.
Mind-reader Eric Dittelman didn't need his talent to predict the crowd's reaction to his show in the Westborough High School auditorium Wednesday night. The 2003 WHS graduate and Grafton resident heard lots of laughs and applause from the stage. Dittelman gained national acclaim this summer on NBC's "America's Got Talent," where he became one of 24 semi-finalists competing for the grand prize -- $1 million and headlining a Las Vegas show. Dittelman will follow-up Wednesday night's show with a second Westborough performance next month. Eric Dittelman says he has been 'pretty busy' since last Wednesday night's show.
Eric Dittelman is thinking, after weeks of national fame for his mind-reading skills. Last Wednesday night, the Westborough High School alum and Grafton resident made his final appearance on NBC's "America's Got Talent." He was among 24 semi-finalists competing for the grand prize -- $1 million and headlining a Las Vegas show. However, he was not among three finalists chosen last week. Three more will be chosen at 8 tonight. Dittelman said Wednesday he has been "pretty busy" since last Wednesday night. "I'm still coming down from the whole experience. Westborough native and mind-reader Eric Dittelman's run on NBC's "America's Got Talent" ended Wednesday night. Musician William Close, comedian Tom Cotter and "SandStory Artist" Joe Castillo advanced to the finals, one night after the first 12 of 24 semi-finalists performed and viewers voted. Voting ended at 5 a.m. Eastern Wednesday. Ventriloquist Todd Oliver was fourth. Judge Howard Stern voted for him, and Sharon Osbourne voted for Castillo. Howie Mandel broke the tie. If you're a fan of America's Got Talent, you likely saw Westborough native Eric Dittelman impressing the judges by correctly describing, while blind-folded, drawn images that were held over his head. Among those he impressed? Howard Stern, who drew a self-portrait that Dittelman identified while blind-folded. Dittelman, a "mind-reader" from Westborough who lives in Grafton, is one of 48 contestants competing for a $1 million prize. The 27-year-old graduated in 2003 from Westborough High School. On his website, he wrote that he quickly became interested in improv and "all things comedy," and has had a "lifelong passion for mystery performance."
