Town Loses Nelson Park Volunteer, South Grafton Native

Two local men have passed away this week. If you know of others that are not listed, please include them in the comments.

Charles H. Jordan, 89, passed away peacefully May 5, 2012. His first wife Stephanie C. (Condrate) Jordan passed away in 2005. He is survived by his children Deborah M. Johnstone, Skip Jordan and his wife Cynthia, and Melanie A. Balser and her husband Raymond, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren who will miss their beloved "Pops", his sisters Rhetta Morgan, Arlynne Levesque and Carole Buck and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his wife Geraldine (Chamberlain) Jordan along with her children and grandchildren. Charlie was born Aug. 21, 1922 in Grafton and was a lifelong resident in town. Vincent Dauphinais, Worked at Family Business

He passed away peacefully at home April 27.

Vincent Albert Dauphinais, 68, died peacefully at home on April 27 surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was born in Worcester, the son of the late Albert and Elsie (Champagne) Dauphinais and was raised in Grafton. He graduated from Grafton High School and then joined the family owned and operated Redi Mix concrete business, Construction Services of North Wilbraham and E.L. Dauphinais, Inc., based in Grafton. He is survived by his wife, Joanne E. (Ford) Dauphinais; his three children, Craig Dauphinais and his wife Carol, Lori Trahan and her husband Roger, and Robert Gervais and his wife Amanda, his sister, Rhonda Valanzola, all of Grafton; his seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, sisters and brothers in-law and many …

Houde, 79, passed peacefully at home April 12, 2012, in the love and care of his family. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Marguerite I. Scobie, 95, formerly of North Grafton passed away April 9, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband David Scobie who died in 1984. She is survived by her four daughters, Gail Adams of Spencer, MA, Diane Rambadt and her husband Steve of Hilliard, OH, Beverly Kellum and Linda Franza of Florida; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Army, 46, passed away March 30, 2012 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center following an illness. She is survived by her parents Gail (Davis) and Walter Army, her daughter Shawnessy Army, her sister Deborah Janney and her husband John, her uncle and aunt Jim and Diane McFadden along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of her family. Richard Brophy, 91, of Grafton 91, passed peacefully Monday April 2 with family at his side. Three Residents are Gone but not Forgotten

Margaret M. (Noe) Jacques, 85, passed peacefully March 23, at Beaumont Northborough. She will be remembered as an advocate for public education as well as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a lifelong Grafton resident. Mrs. Jacques was born in Worcester on October 28, 1926 to the late Frederick and Margaret (Sullivan) Noe. Mrs. Jacques graduated from Grafton High School in 1944 and Clark University in 1948. While working at Grafton State Hospital, she met Dr. Leo C. Jacques, whom she married on October 12, 1949. Mrs. Jacques had a fulfilling career in public education advocacy. She began as a member of the Grafton PTA and worked her way up to serving as President of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees. After …

Calling Hours, Burial Set for Seshu Kandukuri

The popular teen will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Seshu Kandukuri will be laid to rest tomorrow at Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton following afternoon calling hours at Roney Funeral Home. The 19-year-old lost his battle with cancer Wednesday. His calling hours will be held from noon to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home at 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. He will be buried at Fairview Cemetery after the calling hours. If you know of a current or former resident of Grafton who has passed that is not listed here, please add them to the comments. Abraham Hanna, 92, of Grafton, died Feb. 16, 2012. Services have already been held. Stella Amour, 88, of Grafton, died peacefully at home on Feb. 27, 2012. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 3 from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. at the Roney Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest privately in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
