Heat Wave, Thunderstorms Expected This Week

The Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook on Monday morning.

The work week will be a hot one in MetroWest, with temperatures Monday through Friday expected to peak in the mid-90s, according to the National Weather Service. Heat advisories are expected to be issued beginning Tuesday.

The Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook on Monday morning, advising of a "moderate to high probability" of heat advisories being issued Tuesday through Friday, for afternoon heat indexes of 100 degrees or more.

The outlook is for all of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, as well as southern New Hampshire.

In addition to the five consecutive days of 90-plus temperatures, the Weather Service said there will be an increased risk for scattered showers and thunderstorms from Thursday through Saturday.
