Enrollment OK'd For Three Students Moving Here After School Opens

The Grafton School Committee approved the two families' requests Monday night.

Three students moving to Grafton this winter from out of state can attend Grafton's schools when classes resume.

The Grafton School Committee approved the two families' requests Monday night.

School Superintendent Dr. Jay Cummings said school committee policy allows the superintendent to allow families moving to Grafton to enroll here "as long as they have a purchase and sale in hand" and move within three months of the first day of school.

Families moving to Grafton after a longer period require school committee approval to enroll, Cummings said.

The two families discussed on Monday night will both rent "in the area" until their Grafton homes are ready, he said. One family expects to move here in  December, and the other one in January, he said.

Two sixth graders and one fifth grader will attend the Grafton schools this fall thanks to the school board's vote Monday night.
