Supermarket Inspections

The following are inspection report comments from the Milford Board of Health.

Editor's Note: the following statements are contained in Milford Board of Health inspection reports.

Three violations here: knives in two departments must be clean and sanitized before storage in their knife racks; meat juice was in the very bottom of the hamburger grinding machine.

Four violations here: Store associates are to make sure that knives are clean and sanitized before storage in their respective knife racks; the hand sink in the bakery area has to be adjusted so that when water is turned on with any force beyond a trickle, there is no splashing on the floor as water comes out in an awkward spray; two turkeys disposed of as they were stored too high in the open freezer case and had partially thawed.

Seven violations here, which included the following: Foods not covered properly in the small walk-in cooler behind the deli area; the large walk-in deli some pre-cooked chickens not covered; ice shovel needs to be stored so that it is not in contact with the wall or any other surfaces that cannot be cleaned or sanitized; racks of bread in the bakery cooler need to be covered with at least a three-sleeve cover; shelves in the pasta and coffee grinding area need to be cleaned.

Did they inspect aldi?
Michael October 31, 2012 at 08:07 PM
No mention of Aldi in the report.
Mary MacDonald October 31, 2012 at 08:36 PM
No, the Aldi inspection didn't happen, or a report wasn't submitted, before I collected the Board of Health reports. They'll be included, assuming they're inspected, in the next round of reports I publish.
