No Town Flu Clinics This Year

Budget cuts force a change.

Due to significant budget cuts at the state level, The will not be holding a public flu clinic this year.

Although influenza vaccine is now recommended for almost all people 6 months of age or older, boards of health that receive their vaccine from the state can only vaccinate uninsured or underinsured adults this year.

You are considered underinsured if your doctor charges a copay for the vaccine or your insurance does not cover vaccines or prescription medications.

If you have questions or if you wish to schedule a flu shot, call the health department at 508-839-5335 x129. You may also email the at parentt@grafton-ma.gov

With the public clinics cancelled, the health department urges all adults to be vaccinated at their physician’s office or at the many venues, such as supermarkets or pharmacies, offering the vaccine this year.

The vaccine given out at these locations is the exact same flu vaccine, but it is purchased privately and can therefore be given to anyone for whom it is safe. The best way to protect yourself from the flu is to wash your hands frequently and to get the flu shot.

The Health Department regrets any inconvenience this causes. Health officials hope that residents who have previously received a flu shot from the department will seek the vaccine elsewhere and stay healthy.

Penny-wise, pound foolish. Ben Franklin was right on the mark! How many children and elders will suffer needlessly because of the lack of care, concern and foresight of our Democratic-controlled state government? Thanks to our limousine liberal Governor "Cadillac" Deval Patrick for his leadership. Will he still receive his free flu shot courtesy of you and me? Inquiring minds want to know!
