The 19-year-old lost his battle with cancer Wednesday. His calling hours will be held from noon to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home at 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. He will be buried at Fairview Cemetery after the calling hours.

“Born in Vijayawada, State of Andhra Pradesh, India on 16th January, 1993.
Departed on March 7th, 2012 and resided in South Grafton, MA.

He is survived by his father Koteswara Rao Kandukuri, Mother Padmavathi Kandukuri, Sister Harika Kandukuri, grand mother Umamaheswaramma, uncle Ekambareswara Rao Kandukuri, aunt Kanya Kumari, cousin Kusuma Kamakshi, brother-in-law Naga Srinivas, niece KhyathiSri and several cousins and family friends.

Our story begins with a fun-loving, free-spirited boy from India with a passion for enjoying every moment of life. Over the years, Seshu grew into an incredible person, a loving son, caring brother, passionate lover and an adoring friend to many. He finished his elementary school in Mansfield and Middle School & High school from Grafton, MA. Throughout high school, he overcame the challenges he faced through hard work and dedication. Despite missing much of his senior year due to his fight with cancer, he was motivated to complete his coursework and proudly graduated with his classmates in May 2011 and later joined at Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester for Fall semester.

In spite of the difficult struggle he faced, he continued to live his life to the fullest by dancing, hanging out with his friends, and helping those around him with every opportunity. In September 2011, Seshu walked 26 miles to help raise money and awareness for cancer through the Jimmy Fund, an organization that helped him and countless others in their battles. At the Dana Farber Clinic, he always played with the younger kids and acted as an older brother - someone they could look up to, a model of unparalleled courage and strength. He was never one to complain and always upheld a positive outlook on life.

Seshu M.V. Kandukuri touched the lives of not just his family and friends but everyone who had the privilege of knowing him through his unrelenting perseverance, charming personality, and the ability to laugh through the toughest of times. He wasn't just strong, he was "SeshuStrong" - this slogan emblazoned on blue silicone wristbands was embraced by students and teachers at Grafton High School.

He will forever remain in our hearts, as a beacon of light to those still fighting and an inspiration to us all.’’
