The Obama Legacy - Week 200

Here it is Thanksgiving week and we as Americans have a lot for which to be thankful. We live in the greatest land in the world. We, as a people, are extremely generous and resourceful.

Here it is Thanksgiving week, and we as Americans have a lot for which to be thankful.

We live in the greatest land in the world. We as a people are extremely generous and resourceful. America offers tremendous opportunity for anyone who believes in themselves and is willing to step out and offer their goods or services for sale.

Unfortunately, we are still in a period of extreme hardship for many. The Northborough Food Pantry is busier than ever and the need for organizations such as Friends of Families in Transition continues to grow.

This is week 200 of Barack Obama's Presidency

Kira, The purpose of this series is to track the side of the jobs equation that the media has been ignoring. Leading up to the election we were told that the economy was improving and we are on our way to good times. They tells us of all the new jobs created but have been silent on the jobs lost and companies who have gone out of business. As you see the number of layoffs and business closings are significant and should be reported.

Economics should be an issue everyone cares about when the federal government is borrowing 40 cents of every dollar they spend. This is not a Donkey vs Elephant issue. This is an economic issue that affects or will affect every single American when it comes to the price of groceries, gas, housing, education and their ability to earn an income.

Mike, I would agree it is not a partisan issue. Both parties have spent wildly in the past 12 years and everyone is going to feel the effects of getting spending under control. I was simply commenting because you and Stephen sounded a lot like you were blaming Democrats alone of the situation we no find ourselves in. Romney was a Fraud, that's why he lost. He never could explain how he planned to reduce the deficit, cut spending, decrease taxes for all and substantially increase military spending, all at the same time! Voodoo economics!

Borden, I find you comment that Romney is a fraud to either come from either a hyper partisan perspective or ignorance. It is a well documented fact that Romney knows how to take failing institutions that are losing money and turn them around and make them prosper again. He has done it in the private sector, public sector and non profit sector. Romney did a terrible job articulating his vision but any objective research into his professional history shows that Romney is a capable individual with excellent leadership qualities. At least we can agree that the economic issues are due to the failure of the professional politicians (those in office for more than a 12 years) to keep federal spending below the level of federal receipts. The real chasm in political belief revolve around the role of government in both economic and social issues; those who subscribe to the Keynesian economic model versus those who hold the Austrian economic world view.

Romney is a good businessman, and a good Governor when he was a moderate in a state controlled by Democrats!
