North Grafton Elementary School Holds Annual Community Reading Day

 

What do a Police officer, musician, postmaster, veterinarian, farmer, principal, parent, land trust member, superintendent, and an assistant superintendent have in common? They were all community readers at North Grafton Elementary school’s annual community reading day.

Readers visited the school to kick off the school wide Books and Beyond program which celebrates reading and highlights the value of reading in our everyday lives. Community Reading Day actively engages NGES students with important community members.

The NGES PTG would like to thank Superintendent Cummings, Assistant Superintendent Tracy Calo, Principals Brenda Plainte and Jen Mannion, Executive Director and Founder of Apple Tree Arts, Donna Blanchard, Dr. Frank of Tufts University, Police Officer Hulbert, Postmaster LaChapelle, Ruth Houlden from Houlden Farms, Land Trust Secretary Carol Dauphinais and parents, Rachael Murkett, Shannon Zervos and Laura Often for helping with this event and sharing their love of reading with the children.
