"Once Upon a Mattress"

Apple Tree Arts'
production for middle and high school students is a rollicking, musical satire
based upon the Hans Anderson fairy tale, “The Princess and the Pea.” Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and free for children four and younger. Tickets will be sold at the door



The
twenty cast members are from Grafton, Shrewsbury, Millbury, Sutton and
Uxbridge. The actors have been rehearsing since mid-October learning the music,
dialogue and choreography.



Grafton
actors include Alyssa Luber who portrays Prince Dauntless the Drab; Caroline
Morgan and Melissa Perron are double casted as Queen Aggravain; Daniel Murphy
plays Sir Harry; Kelsey Sidman plays a Princess and Lady of the Kingdom;
Daniella Digges and Emma Swanick are double casted as The Minstrel and a Knight;
Liz Kelley and Anna Dorosario are double casted as The Jester and a Knight;
Will Evans plays The Wizard; Maeve Mahoney plays Lady Beatrice; and Christina
Burr plays Sir Harold.

The
production is directed by Theatre Arts Director Lisa Scarlett and Laurie Baker, theatre arts and
early child music educator of the community arts school. Noelle and Ashley
Scarlett and Austin Bailey are assisting the directors with auditions and
choreography. Ron Burke is helping with the set design.



Founded
in 1989, Apple Tree Arts is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization that has grown
to serve over 3,000 children and adults annually with early childhood music
classes, group keyboard lessons, private music and voice instruction,
ensembles, theatre arts programs and concerts. The school provides a wide range
