Grafton Snowmobile Accident Reminder of Ice Dangers

Two passengers fell into the frigid water and were treated for hypothermia after plunging into the water about 50 feet from the shoreline on Sunday.

Just last month, Grafton Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau Jr. wrote a column addressing ice safety.

"Due to the uncertainty of ice conditions and the dangers presented, many towns will not sanction the safety of lakes, ponds, streams or rivers that have frozen over."
