5 Things You Need to Know Today: July 23

The Community Harvest Project harvested nearly 15,000 pounds for donation last week.

Each morning, Grafton Patch presents “5 Things You Need to Know,” a collection of announcements, events, and reminders that can help you plan your day.

3. The is holding another Read to a Dog Day. Bring a book or choose one of the library's to read to a PAWSing to R.E.A.D. therapy dogs. Sign up for a ten-minute slot by calling the Library Children's Room at 508-839-4649. The event will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in either the Children's Room or on the lawn.

4. The recently announced on its Facebook page that volunteers harvested 14,700 pounds for donation last week, "which translates into over 61,000 servings of fresh fruits and veggies." For more information about the project, including how you can volunteer or support it, click here.

5. There could be heavy rain today, according to the National Weather Service, which is forecasting a chance of showers after 2 p.m. Otherwise, the day should be partly sunny with a high near 88.
