Swing With Your Yoga

Improve your golf game, center your mind and strengthen your body...all in one 60 minute yoga class!

Spring is just around the corner, which means sunnier skies, flowers in bloom and greener grass. If you’re a golfer, you’re probably getting your clubs ready right now while reading this blog; perhaps they even stay tucked away in your trunk year round in hopes of warmer days. There are many components that make a great round of golf including sunny skies, dry grounds, good friends and a filling lunch. These amenities aside, the greatest component of a good golf game is, wait for it, YOU. Keeping your body both strong and flexible will lend you a hand in staying under par. So while I cannot claim to be an expert in golf, I do know a thing or two about yoga and how it can help you have the best golf season of your life.

Right of the bat, or the club so to speak, yoga and golf share one big similarity: they are both a practice in mind/body patience and connection. A consistent yoga practice can help calm the mind of even the most avid golfer, or help a newbie keep their cool on the fairway. Beyond the mental application, yoga helps to open the body from the center out; helping to improve balance and posture which will eventually lead to a stronger, more accurate swing.

So whether your game is a round up at Highfields Golf and Country Club or a round of put-put at a local mini golf course, try some yoga first, you just might be surprised. For a full listing of classes at Dance Soul Motion visit www.dancesoulmotion.com or check us out on Facebook
