Barbara Clifford's tenure will end on April 30, ending nearly 12 years.

Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce President Barbara Clifford will retire on April 30, ending nearly 12 years.

Chamber Vice President Karen Chapman will become president on May 1, the chamber's board of directors said Thursday in a press release.

The chamber consists of Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, Shrewsbury and Grafton.

Clifford's tenure began in July 2002.

"In her first six months on the job, she led Corridor Nine to become an incorporated, fully independent chamber after 24 years of affiliation with the Worcester Regional Chamber," chamber officials said in the press release.

Chapman became the chamber's full-time vice president in 2002.
