"There's more area to play, which is great," Principal Jennifer Mannion said.
year, we used the back fields and the structure when the weather was
favorable. When it was wet or snowy, we used the parking lot at the far
end of the building. With that parking lot extension, basketball, four
square, all those things will be accessible to the kids despite the
weather, and it'll be safer. The pieces of the playground are now more
accessible.They've added some pieces to the structure, which the kids
will be excited about."
Grafton students in Kindergarten to grade
nine start school next Tuesday, Sept. 3. Students in pre-Kindergarten
and grades 10 to 12 start on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
The North Street Elementary School is in its "second year as a school community," having opened last year, Mannion said.

basically like we had four staffs coming together last year, if you
include the office staff. So there was a lot of getting to know each
other, getting to know the building, getting to know the families," she
"I learned that we have an incredible group of people here,
and the families of North Street School are amazing. We couldn't have
had the success that we had without the persistent, dedicated fun people
that we have here, and the support of the families. Because there were
zero systems; the school was brand new.
"This year is nice, in that most of the systems have been established. We'll still be adjusting as we go."
