Westborough Native's AGT Run Ends

Mind-reader Eric Dittelman, a Grafton resident, was not chosen for the finals.

Westborough native and mind-reader Eric Dittelman's run on NBC's "America's Got Talent" ended Wednesday night.

Musician William Close, comedian Tom Cotter and "SandStory Artist" Joe Castillo advanced to the finals, one night after the first 12 of 24 semi-finalists performed and viewers voted. Voting ended at 5 a.m. Eastern Wednesday. Ventriloquist Todd Oliver was fourth. Judge Howard Stern voted for him, and Sharon Osbourne voted for Castillo. Howie Mandel broke the tie.

The remaining 12 semi-finalists will compete for the remaining three spots in the finals next Tuesday night, host Nick Cannon said.

The champion wins $1 million, he said.

Dittelman, now of Grafton, was among the top 48 contestants this season.

Wednesday night's show had this group of 12 semi-finalists introduced in groups of three. One performer from each set was selected to the final four, from which the three finalists were chosen.

Dittelman appeared in the evening's last group with Cotter and singer Bria Kelly.

"This is a testament to how great the show has been this year," Stern said while this group was on stage.

Afterward, a number of Dittelman's fans supported him on his AGT Facebook page.

"Sorry you didn't go on to the next round. I did vote for you and would love to know where you will have a show," Catherine Johnson wrote.

"Eric you are so amazing. America got it wrong tonight but regardless I am so proud of my brother!!! You are the winner in my eyes bro!!!" Dittelman's brother Mark wrote.
