Divine Mercy Sunday On Sunday, April 27th
GRAFTON: Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated with a special afternoon of prayer at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 17 Waterville Street in North Grafton on Sunday, April 27th from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
The devotion to Jesus as The Divine Mercy is based on the writings of Saint Faustina Kowalska (1905-1938), a Polish nun. At her canonization on April 30, 2000, Pope John Paul II announced, "From now on, the Second Sunday of Easter will be called Divine Mercy Sunday." According to revelations in the DIARY OF ST. FAUSTINA, Our Lord desired the establishment of this feast on the first Sunday after Easter. He promised complete forgiveness of sins and forgiveness of temporal punishment of sins to those who observe the Feast of Mercy.
According to St. Mary’s Pastor Father Kenneth Cardinale, "We welcome everyone to Divine Mercy Sunday at St. Mary’s. This is a special time of fellowship and renewal in the body of Christ.”
