Founded in 1984, the Amalgamates are Tufts University's oldest coed a cappella group. With members from all over the world, the 'Mates have a tradition of musical excellence represented by both the current singers and a network of over 150 alumni worldwide. In the past, the group has performed at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Disney World, Rockefeller Center, Spain, Jamaica, Paris, Dusseldorf, Aruba, San Francisco, Fenway Park, and many other places around the world. In early 2011, the 'Mates released their 12th studio album, Hands Off the Mannequin! which won Best Mixed Collegiate Album and Best Mixed Collegiate Song for "Boy Lilikoi" in the 2012 CARA Awards

The Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine is the only veterinary school in New England. The Tufts veterinary program supports compassionate healthcare for animals, top-level research and conservation. The campus includes three hospitals: Foster Hospital for Small Animals, Hospital for Large Animals and the Tufts Wildlife Clinic.
