In one of the most poignant moments in Red Sox history, Tim Wakefield stood at Fenway Park yesterday and announced his retirement at age 45.
The Red Sox pitcher, famous for his slow-moving but deadly knuckleball pitching style, spent 19 seasons in the major leagues, with 17 of them with the Sox.
What do you think of his decision? What was your favorite memory or moment from Wakefield's career? And what should the Red Sox do to honor him?

I will start: This is a tough loss in a season that needs all the gutsy performers it can get after the end-of-season debacle. The Sox should make him a special pitching coach/advisory. He was always a great team player, stayed in shape and exemplified professionalism.

They should have a special day to honor him. I will miss seeing him in the Red Sox lineup. Wishing Wake the best
