'SeshuStrong' Walking for Fallen Grafton High Grad

Seshu Kandukuri succumbed to cancer in March; next month, a team of his friends and family will walk for the Jimmy Fund in his memory.

Last year at this time, Seshu Kandukuri was preparing to walk 26 miles for the Jimmy Fund, an organization that helped him and countless others.

Next month, those who knew and loved Seshu will walk for him.

"Seshu walked this last year, just six months before he passed," said family friend Nancy Perduta, who has stayed in touch with Seshu's family since his death in March.

Seshu was 19 and a recent graduate of when he lost his battle to cancer. He was undergoing chemotherapy treatments when he completed the walk for the Jimmy Fund, which donates to Dana-Farber, where he received treatments and

Months after his death, friends continue to post memories and thoughts on his Facebook page, which now serves as a memorial for a young man taken too soon.

His family has organized the "SeshuStrong" Jimmy Fund Walk team, which will walk 26.2 miles in Boston on Sept. 9, in memory of Seshu. The team's fundraising goal is $5,000; as of Aug. 23, team members had raised more than $1,800 in Seshu's honor.
