Plaques Showcase Historic Homes

The Grafton Historical Society is offering plaques for homeowners.

Proud of your home’s historic roots? Put up a plaque so everyone will know.

The offers historical house plaques to local residents. The house plaques will indicate the date the house was constructed and will feature a distinctive, society-approved design.

Want to learn more about your home? The society has an historic inventory of homes and structures that describes many of the town’s historic homes and features a brief history of each, according to society president Linda Casey.

Otherwise, residents can trace their house deed back to its original owner. The town assesor's office has many of these records and the deed records are also available through the Worcester County Registrar of Deeds.

The plaques are available for $75. For more information or to obtain a plaque,  contact Nancy Deschenes, the sign program coordinator. She can be reached by phone at: 508-839-2944; or by email at jeanan2@verizon.net.
