The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Winter Storm Warning for Grafton, predicting that it could see 8 to 12 inches of snow from the storm, which began overnight and is expected to end Friday afternoon.
Jim Arnold, weather specialist with Shrewsbury Emergency Management, said recently, "Temperatures have fallen in the central Massachusetts area and the snow is now sticking in places where it had been melting as it falls."
He placed final snow totals for the area at 6 to 10 inches.
"Snow will continue at varying rates throughout the night and Friday morning, coming to an end around noon," Arnold said. "The jackpot area will be south on Route 495 in the Mansfield, Foxboro, Walpole area where up to 16 inches could fall."
