Addeo Returns to Grafton
He has re-registered as a level 3 sex offender and listed a Grafton address.
Brian Addeo has returned to Grafton and re-registered as a level 3 sex offender, according to Grafton Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau Jr.
Addeo, 33, listed his address as 120 Milford Road, Grafton.
He was released on 10 years’ probation last week. He must wear a GPS monitoring bracelet through the probation period, Connolly said.
During that time, he is ordered to have no contact with his previous victims or anyone under 16. He must also undergo counseling.
Addeo was the subject of a New England-wide manhunt last March when he reportedly cut off his GPS monitoring bracelet and tossed it into the back of a pickup truck in the parking lot of Home Depot in Tewksbury.
Wearing the monitoring bracelet was one of the requirements of his parole. He was released on lifetime community parole April 29, 2010 after pleading guilty to a number of charges.
These charges included four counts of statutory rape of a child, three counts of indecent assault and battery of a child under 14 and indecent assault and battery of a person over 14.
Judge James Lemire ruled in Worcester Superior Court last week that Addeo should not have been placed on lifetime probation and should be released. Addeo’s attorney argued against any form of probation, but the judge agreed with the district attorney’s office recommendation for 10 years of probation.
The state had attempted to have Addeo labeled as a sexually dangerous person, which would placed him at Bridgewater State Hospital for an undetermined period of time. They were unsuccessful in that effort.
Addeo is 5’ 10’’, weighs 270 pounds and has brown eyes and hair.
The Sex Offender Registry Board requires people to register if they are determined to “have a high risk to re-offend’’ and that “the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active community notification,’’ according to information provided by Crepeau.
